Aikatsu Hope! (シグナス望む! Aikatsu Nozomu!) is an Aikatsu series about a hopeful group of friends wishing to be top idols. The show first aired on July 10, 2016 and lasted 25 episodes. Recently in 2022, the show was announced to be having a second season starting on April 14th, 2022. The second season continues from the first, with the main characters starting anew, still hoping to become top idols.
Plot[]
Season 1[]
Everyone hopes to one day realise their dreams. Girls such as Mikan, Naho, Claire, Miu and Hina all wish to become idols. To enter the Aikatsu world and reach the top just like the idols before them. Mikan and her best friend Naho wish to realise this dream together.
One fateful day, the girls' paths converge. They find themselves in a talent agency that wishes to showcase the talents of new idols. Seeing potential in these five girls, the president of the agency decides to help the girls reach their potential. Becoming Aikatsu idols and going through stages and auditions to gain experience and hopefully, find their path as idols.
Season 2[]
Mikan, Naho, Claire, Miu and Hina have debuted together and are now in the group Cream. However, they still have a long way to go as idols. They are hit by a sudden roadblock when their agency threatens to close their doors. They try the best they can to save their company, but they are unable to stop it.
But a new hope shows up in the form of Tsuyu Shimizu, president of the famous agency TS Entertainment. She heard the story of the group and wishes to help them. The girls then start anew in a new agency.
Thinking that they have another chance, they decide to rebrand in the hopes of becoming the top idols they have always wished to become.

Mikan loves to sing, it was a hobby that turned into a passion. From a very young age, she was immersed in music, playing the piano and singing in a choir. Mikan's very first wish was to become a renowned singer. Her parents supported her in her dream and know that their daughter is talented. She would take vocal lessons and train herself. She is best friends with Naho, together they love idols. After seeing news for auditions, they decide to take the opportunity. Mikan hopes to realise her dream become an idol who brings smiles and joy.

Naho is an idol fan and loves to watch idol concerts. She has always wished to become an idol and has been training for a long time. She is best friends with Mikan whom she believes to be an incredible singer. She wishes for the both of them to become top idols. Naho had tried many times before to pass auditions to become an idol. However, she failed each time. But she doesn't give up easily and believes that her and Mikan can become top idols.

Claire is a rookie idol who wants to enter the fashion industry. She loves to design and create clothes. She has been trying to get more attention as an idol but hasn't done it yet. This has caused her to focus on fashion and create her own brand. Claire really wants to be an idol and loves to sing. She wishes to be like the idols she admires and reach her goals to both be an idol and designer.

Miu loves to dance and has been dancing since she was 5. She has won many awards as a dancer. In middle school, she gained passion for music. Miu then wanted to become an idol. Her family was supposed to see her change, as she had expressed wanting to become a professional dancer. But she thought that it was okay to change her dream and did not give up on dancing. Instead she wants to become a top dancer in Aikatsu.

Hina is actually an idol who had debuted in a duo before. Her partner then wanted to branch out and became an idol on her own. This saddened Hina for a while, she struggled to find opportunities after the duo had broken up. Her friends and family cheered her up and told her that she was talented and could become a famous name in the industry. Her former partner once messaged her telling her that she was sorry to have suddenly broken up their duo. She told her that Hina was an idol with talent and believes in her. Hina wants to try again and hopes to become a top idol.
