Ueno Atsuko (上野 敦子 Ueno Atsuko?)
Atsuko is the main character in the series. She is a Cool-type idol, and is very determined to make all her movements as easeful as possible, making her train very hard. As she makes every movement look so easeful, she has gotten several nicknames, such as Atsuko of above (上の敦子 Ue no Atsuko?), referring to some people believing that she is an angel sent from heaven.
Nakahara Akemi (中原 明美 Nakahara Akemi?)
Akemi is Atsuko's best friend, and a Pop-type idol. She is normally quite graceful, but as soon as she get nervous or upset, she gets extremely clumsy.
Iwasa Nami (岩佐波 Iwasa Nami?)
Nami is a very cheerful girl, and has a 'little sister' character, not just on stage, sometimes in her 'free' time as well. She is selfish at times, but is a really good friend despite that. She is a Cute-type idol.
Yukimura Chika (雪村 治下 Yukimura Chika?)
Chika is in the same class as Atsuko and Akemi, and is very fierce. She is a sexy type idol. She is best at powerful dance-moves, and has a strong voice. She joined the school Sunset Academy half a year after the other two.
