Like Yoshito and Adelina, John hides his true self under a calm, persevered, self-respectful persona. While not showing much emotion on his face, he is far from stoic, bit closer than Yoshito to Adelina's level. quite allergic to most toppings, mostly at the expense of the school ice cream man.
His favorite food is pistachio ice cream and only eats them alongside chocolate chip and plain vanilla rather than other flavors, much to the manager's annoyance. He seems to take well to company as it seems that he doesn't have any complaints with Yoshito and Adelina just yet.

Hyuuga (日向,Hyuuga?):Hyuu (日,hi?) translates to sun, and ga (向,muki?) translates to facing; toward. The two kanji can also mean sunny place or in the sun when used in normal speech rather than as a surname, in which case they are pronounced hinata.
John: The English form of Iohannes, the Latin form of the Greek name Ιωαννης (Ioannes), itself derived from the Hebrew name יוֹחָנָן (Yochanan) meaning "God is gracious".
